Went to the doctor for my back today. Turns out my muscles are trying to disassemble my spine. And thanks to the 2 month head start, are doing a rather good job of it. Step 1 is to spend the next 5 days as a prescription induced soup using muscle relaxers and pain meds.

The chronic illness level of tired is the same kind of tired that comes from a day well-lived except you barely moved from your couch and don't get the satisfaction of the memories made to take the sting out of the fatigue. I'm supposed to be happy when I'm this tired. Not ashamed of being lazy.

Teaching my autistic son the Language of Tone has been an interesting part of parenthood. We just did, "sad hi/happy hi" to show him how the only different thing was "voice going down/voice going up" and walked him through what he learns from someone's "sad hi" that's different from a "happy hi"
