Spent the day playing with my recovering boy and doing art. I did SO much art today... but not in a way I can show yet. Hopefully all of today's work will pay off tomorrow and I'll have some real progress to show you! But for now, it's time to marshmallow, crawl in bed, and relax 😶‍🌫️

I love that conservatives will (misquote) say, "money is the root of all evil" AND defend the ultra-rich by saying they are obviously God's Special Little People and somehow fully argue both mean poor people are gross and lazy and don't deserve food.

It's apparently National Saxophone Day AND Thirsty Thursday... So obviously in have to pull this one out of the vault. This is my Great-grandfather's 1920s Saxophone. It's mine now and it makes an excellent prop until I can restore it and learn to play it like I've always dreamed 🎷🥰

My evening plans of drawing have been postponed. I was called to Mom Duty. This evening, my mission is to be a reclining chairbed for a sick little boy who keeps spiking fevers at the end of the day. Keeping him elevated is helping him rest better. It's a good thing I make excellent furniture 😎

There's a Stickergate (the sequel, I guess) going on over on Threads. I'd stumbled on the drama based on MAGA Karen email interactions that, to my mind, smelled off. I scrolled along. Then everything blew up and it turns out the creator was emailing herself and used it to drum up 10k sympathy sales.

So my mom's trip has been cancelled thanks to next week's airline troubles. She can't afford to get stranded in California. She's on her way back and will be here to be exposed to her first ever COVID. I'll give the universe this one, but I stg if it kills my mom for points I'm gonna lose my shit.

My son's fever broke. It got up to 103.8 and had me begging him to try some medicine. He did. He tried two sips, trying to so it slowly in hopes of avoiding the inevitable. Unfortunately he threw it up immediately. I praised him SO hard for those two sips. It was a huge thing for my son. 🧵↓

Hey! Guess who finally kicked the migraine in time to become a hotpad wrapped toasted marshmallow and make an ass of herself on the internet before falling asleep with milkduds stuck in her hair?!

Looking to get my Christmas fund sorted out. Found this in my old 120 crayons box trying to be a crayon. No low-balls, I know what I got. This is OG, 2/3rd full and guaranteed to make you smell like your favorite pop singer's asscrack.

Roofers got rained out and will be returning tomorrow. The current battle may be over, but the war is not yet won.

Having a migraine day while roofers stomp around on and hammer metal sheets directly above your bedroom is an experience. Similar to how I imagine the experience of being shoved in a metal barrel and pushed into a ravine full of stampeding cows would be.

I made a pot of rice pudding because life is extra stupid lately, so it's time for the Big Cope. The recipe says it serves 12, but it's a flat out lie. This is a single-serving recipe. I would know. I've been making it for years and even when I double it, there's still not enough to share.

My former Drill Sergeants would be so disappointed in the hospital corners on my bed this morning. I'm tempted to drop and give them 10 pushups because I know it's what they'd want.

Thanks to having a 5 year old, I crash out early some nights. Ironically, they are also the nights I want to stay up and have fun with the grown-ups. It's also the nights before my son always seems to decide he is going to wake up EXTRA early the next day. Anyways, I hope my house feels satisfied

Turns out the roofer was chilling in the work trailer that's parked here. Probably taking a nap. But, like, I know this one is married, established, etc. He has a house. With his own bed, I assume. So...Why did he drive to my house to hang out in a cold work trailer for a few hours in the rain...🤔

The roofer seems to have disappeared, but his truck is still here. There's not a lot of places around here within walking distance... 🤔

At the same time I know I'm about to lose SNAP I discover that the one nutritional drink my son tolerates is out of stock literally everywhere. Probs forever I have enough to get through the month, but nothing beyond that. And in that month, while without SNAP, I need to be finding the replacement.

Y'all... A roofer just pulled up. It's raining buckets so I'm not supposed to have roofers today....

So, the roofers won't be back tomorrow. But they will be back Monday after the storm that's rolling in moves along. Roof isn't even done and we're gonna test it out. Here's hoping nothing is damaged, as that means they'll have even more work to do when they get back and I want my peace back 😭

Roofer Saga Update! Apparently there's some fixing up around the property they've also agreed to do (partly because it's their fault some of it needs fixing) and if it doesn't get all done today, they'll be back tomorrow. But at least that means more Roofer Stories for you to roll your eyes at! 😂

I'll post thirst traps here AND on Threads, but I only horny post here. Why? Because my Bluesky posts never break containment so it's just me and my potatoes who know how not to get gross about it. (And yes, it's blurred on Threads but I figured if it's going to take up the screen anyways...)
