I’m on Vancouver Island- an island in the ocean. I’m at a ferry terminal- notorious for being near the water- the ocean. A tourist just said “ew, it smells like ocean,” as though ocean would be a weird thing for the ocean (that is *clearly visible*) to smell like. Surprise!

Know what I like about pride month in Vancouver? It’s that it’s in August. But because everyone else’s is in June, it means we start in June. And then why stop all the joy and colour in July when it’s just going to start up again in a month? So we get pride season. And I’m all for that. 🏳️‍🌈
