Regarding shootings: by the end of the 2000s, we had approx. 14 psychiatric beds in the US for every 100,000. I think anyone ignoring this issue by not voting, as well as those voting to deny access/lower quality of mental health services to those w/ serious mental illness have blood on their hands.
