Jesus’s WAY—his model of self-sacrificial life and love—is the TRUTH over and above the lies of empire (aka. the world) and provides LIFE for the body and soul. This is what it means that Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life in John 14. It’s not about Christian supremacy or how to get to heaven.

If you claim to follow Jesus and still endorse the actions of Trump, you are not following the Jesus of the Bible. Read the Gospels and repent.

Calling everything you disagree with “evil” or “illegal” is a precursor to calling those you disagree with “terrorists” or “criminals.”

Marginalized people seeking liberation and equality is NOT persecution of the majority. Equality for Black folks is not persecution of white folks. Equality for LGBTQ+ folks is not persecution of straight folks. Equality for all faiths is not persecution of Christians.

I can’t believe my beautiful baby boy is 5 today. He’s such a kind, thoughtful, smart, brave, determined, and loving kid. I can’t wait to see how he shakes up this world.

Make no mistake America, we are not the good guys. We are the Axis powers not the Allies. We are the Empire not the Rebellion. We are Mordor, not Gondor. If we want to truly be great, we need to resist evil with love and empathy. Fight back, not with violence, but with goodness.

Empathy is and always will be a virtue. Never let anyone gaslight you into thinking otherwise.

On this Inauguration Day, which also falls on MLKJ day, we must never forget the hell that white supremacy has, and still is putting people through. We must never go back. White supremacy is supremely evil.

Not only did Trump start this whole TikTok ban thing when he was president, but it was his Supreme Court who saw it through. Now he’s pretending to be its savior and his followers are buying it hook, line, and sinker. Genuinely, how are Americans so forgetful?

Dear Christian, just a reminder that being “woke” is a compliment. It means you are aware of social injustice and speak up for the marginalized, just like Jesus. Claiming to be anti-woke is simply another way of saying you are anti-Christ.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this quote from Paul Tillich today: “Vitality in man is proportional to intentionality.”

Whiteness and patriarchy hurts white men too. It detaches us from our families, culture, and emotions all the while putting a pressure to perform and fit within a narrow definition of masculinity. It creates enemies where there are none and makes us live in fear and insecurity.

Dear Pastors, before you try to encourage people to “put aside politics” and meet family for Thanksgiving, please understand that for many people, their family is unsafe for their mental health. Learn empathy and act accordingly.

Wouldn’t it be great if putting Bibles in public schools totally backfired on them and we wound up with a bunch of kids prophetically opposing our oppressive and opulent empire just like Jesus and the prophets before him.

What we are watching in real time is GOP congress women enacting disgust against trans-ness. Erin is 100% spot on on highlighting that Mace's objection lies in being seen as "equal" with a trans woman. Disgust demands that the disgusted perform expulsion. 1/

To recap: Trump is a rapist found liable for defaming the woman he raped. His pick for attorney general is currently accused of statutory rape at sex parties. His pick for defense secretary is accused of sexual assault. But Sarah McBride using a restroom is the threat. Okay.

It’s important to recognize, especially now, that “Christian” and “follower of Jesus” do not necessarily mean the same thing. Too often, one is opposed to the other.
