Our Introduction to Oceanography class took a 5-day field trip to The Ocean, visiting some spectacular spots near Big Sur and Monterey. Some major storm systems battered the coast while we were there, so the weather was.... epic. But so was the geology, biology and oceanography 🙂.

SES PhD student Grace Ward has been participating in a research cruise in the Tonga-Samoa area to pick up ocean bottom seismometers that have been deployed on the seafloor for 20 months recording earthquakes. They picked them all up!
