My friend Mary Newell DePalma and I wrote this book which was published in 2022 for the 5th anniversary of the Women's March. You can find it in the history section of bookstores, but, alas, it again speaks to our current moment.

It's International Women's Day. I wrote this book about the 2017 Women's March. It came out in 2022 for the 5 year anniversary. It remains urgently important, even more so now.

Congress needs to forcefully act. Not just a presser. Shut off Trump's funding for Air Force One until he stops illegally impounding money and closing agencies. Make them vote on this Congress.

I'm just breathing slowly and taking in as much air and grace from the Biden presidency while I still can.

Jam puffs for the last day of 19th Century Women Writers, inspired by The Mill on the Floss. Winners of in-class pub-style trivia will get oranges, a la Cranford.

We haven't even gotten to the Mordor portion of this journey, my friends. Hell, we haven't even made it to the Prancing Pony yet. The next four years are going to get grim. Find your people, assemble your supplies, and make sure that one of your close-knit group of companions is friggin Sam Gamgee.

This is old, but it feels worth reposting today. Despair is a failure of imagination. And those of us in the

I've been here for awhile, but I'm excited to introduce myself to all the new folks. I mostly write fiction for young people, and I also teach children's literature and 19th century British lit at Bucknell University. I'm grateful that I get to hang out with books all day long!

It's always a joy to write at the Highlights Foundation. I spent a couple hours revising in this red rocker by the creek.
