I took students of the Iris Murdoch Society for a walk in Oxford and we arrived at St Anne's College, where' a sudden fox peers with his brilliant face, and passes.' A memorable moment and it made me think of giving attention to what is around us

Does anyone really believe that a university management team anywhere either should or could be asked to do this, esp when the uni has gone bust and everyone is looking for a new job? Of course they won't be able to, the whole thing will just cascade and students will be left with nothing. (1/2)

So, Labour's budget was redistributive, which was right. But why not a wealth tax, which would not impact directly upon jobs and prices. Let's have a plan for growth that extends to investing in skills, in FE and HE, and in a range of subjects including arts, where the UK has strengths.

Love and caring matter for all of us. I too have suffered, and felt the restorative warmth of loving support

and not much diversity in higher education. when I left my working class home for University I thought things were looking up, but don't see many opportunities for those from unprivileged backgrounds.

Dartmoor's wooded rivers take on an otherworldly quality at this time of year. Inky mirrors to a newly revealed sky. Granite banks adorned with fallen leaves, others suspended in the current like copper coins.

Great performance. Terrific virtually solo 'It's All Over Now Baby Blue' and loots of atmospheric moody playing. We will miss him at some point, so lots of reasons to make sure we catch him in these twilight years
