Is there a nice algorithm for computing the bounding polygon of selected hexes within a hex map? I don't just want a convex hull. I prefer the jagged edges :)

I can see text again in my kernel! Seeing as UEFI shoves you into a graphics mode I made the beginnings of a bitmap font and emulated a console-ish API. Now to decide what I want my OS to actually do.

Discovered the world of UEFI today. Now the boot loader is trivial but I can't figure out how to get to my kernel. Hooray!

Oh yeah, writing a bootloader means I have to be proficient in x86 assembly. Thankfully there's plenty of examples around. I wonder if I'll need two stages?

Spent the last couple of days writing the beginnings of an OS in Zig. I've got further than this before in C but it's nice to see stuff working. Major things to do: - bootloader (just elf right now) - interrupts - keyboard input - protected mode? - scheduling! - graphics???
