The Mandalorian deserves more than being a retcon overlay slapped on top of an existing concept, and the Millennium Falcon deserves to be more than a synergistic consolation proxy for the Razor Crest.

The "Red Jammer" Y-Wing in Mando & Grogu isn't just a reference to the unfinished model created for Star Wars in 1977.... It's literally that model, shot on a motion control rig. Restored by John Goodson for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, George gave permission for it to be used in the film.

Just the other day I mentioned to my wife, "there's a masseuse in Star Wars who secretes truth serum out of his hands to get criminals to confess while massaging them." I always knew Lexo Sooger would return, but I never expected it to be in Supergirl. Anyway, read CANTO BIGHT, it's great.

In retrospect, the most remarkable thing about the backstory crafted for Galaxy's Edge is that it escaped WDI's befuddling addiction to acronyms.

This is how Jon Favreau’s own family story shaped The Mandalorian and Grogu. “He was a single dad and I lost my mom when I was young…” This conversation changed the way I looked at the bounty hunter and his little green son.

'The Mandalorian and Grogu' Is the Perfect Star Wars Film for These Dark Times
Jon Favreau says he used the film to search his own feelings. How lucky we are for the results.

The only review you need to hear of The Mandalorian And The Grogu is this 10-year-old kid hyped about "Buff Stinky" and thinking the movie is too short while his dad tries to talk about matinee serials, Kurosawa, and the movie being too long. Bless you,

I'd like to tell you how delightful the quests are in the expansive Navarro map surrounding Fortnite's Mandalorian watch party island, but they've disabled screenshots. Hopefully the Black Spire Outpost map they teased last year still manifests, with as much loving detail as they gave this.

Really enjoyed Maul Shadow Lord, but it would've been an all-timer Star Wars show for me if it was two episodes shorter and had a synth-metal score.

Clinging to a liminal sense of "immersion" within this newly fractured timeline is folly. It's full immersion, or it's Hyperspace Hoopla. Rigorous dedication to canon, or freewheeling chaotic fun. This middle ground, with all the costs of immersion and none of the benefits, is deeply embarrassing.

For a decade, Knott’s Berry Farm has anchored their busy summer season with the interactive “Ghost Town Alive” experience. The idea that no one wants this is just patently, observably untrue, but Disney need people to believe it to justify their refusal to invest in immersive play.

Attended the most deliciously rowdy screening of THE LAST JEDI hosted by the "Save The Hunt For Ben Solo" fan campaign at The Frida Cinema, and I loved every minute of it. To mark the occasion, my most unhinged T-shirt yet: Kylo Ren making a poncho out of a lizard from the Legacy of Vader comic!

Setting aside the weaponized racism and misogyny, the key to understanding the STAR WARS sequel trilogy (and specifically LAST JEDI) backlash is realizing that there is a whole generation of STAR WARS fans who are mostly invested in tie-in books that bear very little resemblance to original films.
