Our cat has a bad upper respiratory infection. Indoor cat, no other pets. Spouse and I both had upper respiratory infections that lasted a month, just now recovered. Vet is skeptical, says human-cat transmission is unlikely. Really? Virus folks?

Cool owl fact I learned this week: for many species, their feathers contain porphyrin, which glows under UV light. The porphyrin fades over time, so the amount and pattern of glow can help determine their age. Also the glow is brightest in places on the owl where the sun don't shine.
