Just a friendly reminder that Channel 7's Sunrise helped resurrect Pauline Hanson's career. In 2016, Hanson was paid to appear on Sunrise at least 16 times. She then successfully re-entered politics in the federal election that year, resurrecting the One Nation party. Thanks Kochie and Sam!

Listening to people on the train complain about the Ascot Vale reception backhole. As valid as ever - doesn't matter on your carrier, and yes even when you're above ground, it's simply not good enough

Charging for or allocating rights to scarce public space is one of core policy tools available to local councils to manage congestion. That so many of Melbourneās councils refuse to charge for parking shows an abject lack of respect for the public they serve. Full article below.

My take on the election that no one asked for is that due to Trump Australians are afraid of change of any sort for the moment. Even if the status quo is bad, thereās a fear that the alternative could be worse. I mean, look at what happened to the US!

This is one thing that has improved in Australia over the last 20 years. Weāve moved away from using accident and to using crash. Mostly because car crash investigators will tell you that in 99% of cases someone is at fault

š¢ From 11:59pm tonight, all public transport services will operate on an extremely limited public holiday timetable. šš We understand this is inconvenient. Thank you for your patience as we continue to ignore the way people actually travel on weekends and public holidays.

These tax cuts are stupid. Iād prefer that tax money be collected and used for better public services like more public transport, more funding for public housing, and incentives for transition away from fossil fuels.

The only mention of budgets in this article that fawns over private school but provides no context that private schools are being given public money and as a result 98% of public schools are funded below the School Resource Standard.

Why are cycling rates so low in Australia? And if we want more people to have the choice of active transport options, what can we do? As
@mhharrington.bsky.social
explains, the benefits include cleaner and less congested cities, and happier and healthier people.
