We highlighted this Journey Planner issue to PTV - they were able to fix it pretty quickly👍 There are definitely more improvements to be made. Timely accurate relevant information for passengers is vital when navigating around on public transport.

We're not as trusting of the PTV data as the Guardian, but the best way to ensure revenue comes in to run the network is to make public transport good value for money, with reliable services, affordable fares, make it easier to pay and difficult to avoid.

🎂🚉Happy 161st birthday to Elmore station on the Echuca line, opened 19 Sep 1864. Like many V/Line stations, Elmore has a platform that's too short for 6 car trains. Extending platforms on the busiest lines would help safely cater for longer trains to meet growing travel demand.

🎂🚉Happy 50th birthday to Kananook station, opened 25th August 1975. No trains running today however due to works🚧😬 Kananook normally gets trains every 10 minutes, 7 days a week - would be great to see this level of service provided to more stations across Melbourne.

Running #Melbourne's Metro trains more like an actual metro, with frequent services all day every day, would bring huge benefits. Fixing the 30, 40, 60 minute gaps should be a priority.

Good to see some certainty over the Suburban Rail Loop. Whoever builds it, they need to keep costs under control, and ensure it maximises the benefits: ✅easy quick interchanges ✅provision for future stations (eg Moorabbin East) ✅high quality connecting bus and train services

🚉🎂Happy 152nd birthday to Benalla station, opened 18th August 1873! The Albury line is now one of V/Line's busiest - some trains are booked out well in advance. The State Government needs to invest in more capacity and more services to keep up with patronage growth.

On this day the Upfield line was electrified between Fawkner and Upfield. But it's still mostly single track, limiting the number of trains and causing delays to easily snowball. Extension, duplication and more services would help people get around Melbourne's north.

Don't miss this train! It's busy enough that you'll have to stand, but there isn't another one for 40 minutes. Just a regular Sunday morning in Melbourne's north.

A fully accessible tram network makes things easier for those with vision or mobility difficulties, or travelling with luggage or kids. It also makes it faster for everybody else. There's a lot more to be done.

🚋Happy 20th anniversary to tram route 75's extension to Vermont South, opened 25th July 2005. Like many #Melbourne tram routes it unfortunately terminates just a few kilometres short of a major destination and interchange, in this case Westfield Knox and its 11 bus routes.
