I think we all have areas where we can be more eco conscious and I've chosen to focus on overconsumption. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with maximalism - it's the overconsumption of society as a whole. The way we waste everything from fibers to food.

If we stop buying acrylic yarns from retailers, maybe productions can halt. It's important to also not purchase from resellers who are part of the issue. Destashers, thrift stores, & donations are the most ethical options in my experience. It's such a small and slow process but, it's mine.

I don't use acrylic yarn cus it's the Best fiber, it's not ! Plastic is not the friend of our dreams. One of my goals is to spread awareness about its overproduction. We don't need to buy it brand new there's an abundance of it unused ! Buying eco-friendly yarn is not the only answer. Reduce REUSE !
