a thing i sit with as a person underemployed at this age is looking at my retirement plan and thinking "welp, this is supposed to last FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE? how long am i gonna live?" the constant mortality check is super fun.

had to medicate my doggo for a lab test yesterday, he FINALLY sacked out around 2:30am last night. poor guy was totally zooted, i think he was having kind of a bad trip. i couldn't do anything but keep an eye on him. we are both going to need a big nap today.

My dog had to be sedated for a blood pressure check today and he's basically been on a not great downer trip all day. He's not happy unless I'm holding him. I can't do anything else.

been thinking about how investing in biz was *supposed* to be good for job creation but now all the biz investment is going into AI, a literal job elimination strategy but there's no penalty for that soooooo, i dunno what to do with this idea, it's ill formed right now.

had coffee today with three underemployed neighbors, brilliant to work with all of them, without good jobs all of them. things are going great in this new economy.

Mood is spreading around my quiet neighborhood.

I do the ride I did today often, but I usually ride alone instead of with 200+ neighbors who want it to be known that all *this* is not okay.

just returned from the neighborhood Alex Pretti memorial ride and I think there were a few hundred people there. I couldn't really tell because at no point could i see where the cyclists ended. biking in solidarity with neighbors, good. fascist ice thugs in cars, bad. no further comment.

i'm doing a smaller ride in my 'hood today but seeing this makes me genuinely sorry I didn't haul myself downtown.

I *really* hope that tech voices speak up loud and clear about health care costs, which have been inivisible to so many of these workers. they're gonna find out how much COBRA sets them back and they won't be happy.
