I feel like when people say they liked the btas or dcau version of Harley over the modern comics it feels like theyre trying to get a gotcha by saying you want Harley defined by her abuse victimhood forever when Harley did stuff outside be a victim in that,like she was a balanced character.

Is she being defined by her victim hood bc even in btas and the dcau overall Harley had more going on than that. Like she had episodes striking out on her own dealing with interesting themes about her wanting to get her life together or just going thru an adventure that balanced comedy and pathos.

I feel like this makes more sense when you take in Harleys other relationships to people, Deadpool bc he is a man is put in a particular position where his queerness and relationships with people of different genders differ and how they portray his body and attitude.
