Tornado warning in Santa Cruz

What snow drought? All the talk of a snowless Sierra has been erased in just 48 hours. Two day snow totals range from 1 to 3 feet down to 6,000 feet and 2 to 4 feet above 7,500 feet. I think the Tahoe resorts can make do with that.

Merry Christmas! Thankfully no tornadoes overnight, but it was still a busy night. Widespread 40 to 60 mph gusts and heavy rain caused a lot of roadway flooding and downed trees. Santa Cruz harbor even registered a 91 mph gust! We aren’t done yet. More showers and storms later this afternoon.
