New consultation launched for walking and cycling improvements in the Ordsall Neighbourhood

38% of Peel Green households have no access to a car or van. They must be given safe alternatives. Please email your support for this scheme before the deadline of 22nd December.

This new tool from Dept for Transport shows how well located anywhere is for popular destination types such as work, education and shopping by different modes of transport. Shows just how viable cycling is for local journeys in many parts of Salford if they all had the infrastructure to enable it.

As a condition of this development, the junction of Middlewood St / Ordsall Ln / Hampson St is due to be simplified and converted to a cyclops, along with a new bus gate on Ordsall Lane.

NEW 🚨 The Government has confirmed to local MP Jeff Smith that they will continue to support high quality cycling infrastructure with floating bus stops.

It is disappointing National Highways has failed to include improving the unusable Haweswater Underpass in the M60 Simister Island scheme design, and refused to commit funding. It shows the lack of priority National Highways gives to improving facilities and access for local people.

Today we celebrated the opening of Deansgate Cycleway by riding the entire length to Chorlton and grabbing a beer. The dream!

On Thursday after work, we're celebrating the opening of Deansgate with a celebration ride. Come along and cycle Deansgate to Chorlton on protected cycle lanes for the first time 🚲

Excellent news that the bustling Monton Road has now been reduced to 20mph, and bollards installed to prevent anti-social parking. A much improved environment for walking, wheeling & cycling.

🚧 Works on Chapel St East will begin on 22nd April. 🚧 From Monday 5th May the road will be closed westbound (Salford-bound) between Blackfriars Rd and New Bailey.

Excellent work from our neighbours in Manchester. Salford will shortly be further enhancing city centre cycling options with the Chapel St East scheme due to start construction straight after Easter

Great to see 300 new 2nd generation bee bikes are to be added to cycle hire scheme from May, along with plans starting to take shape for zone expansion. We’d love to see the scheme expanded further into Salford to open up cycle hire to those living in Salford’s towns.

Park Street in Swinton used to be a busy rat run, but with this new split one-way system it has eliminated through traffic and provided: 🚶👩‍🦽‍➡️ a vastly improved walking & wheeling environment by (mostly) clearing the footway of parked cars 🚲 a new quiet route for cycling
