All I want for chanukah is the end of the detention and deportation machine and the horrors it brings to every person caught up in it. 🫠

I will never forget how many people simply accepted the premise that because someone is not a citizen, they don’t have any rights. This is how it always happens. Put people in a category and get the public to accept that this category can be treated this way.

This is why we must fight for everyone. Whether they’ve been incarcerated or have had contact with the criminal legal system or are merely undocumented. When you accept that some people are deserving of detention and deportation the scope of who is eligible is always under threat of expanding.
