Had a discussion with a respected colleague today about standing for local government. Marketing and attention should be straightforward but not sure what to stand for that delivers. Much of the real change either needs a large broom, or big overhaul from central govt.

Meanwhile in Aoteroa New Zealand the government is raising speed limits and reducing investment in walking and cycling because it, impedes economic growth. Meanwhile the Easter road death toll was the highest in 5 years. Make it make sense.

Does NZ lack ambition? Where is the leadership that inspires us to lean into the famous no. 8 wire mentality and feel proud to be kiwis? Instead we're revelling in how many are leaving or who we can hate on this week. #nzpol
