Ordered some books with some gift cards I got over the holidays. I love books.

When I'm writing novels, I do a full pass to add in each arc/thread. 0 Draft: a basic idea... by the end, I might know the MC's emotional arc. Add that in, get to the end, and I realize I need another plot thread to support their arc. Back to the beginning. Thirty drafts later, I have a novel. Easy.

It probably says a lot about my level of marketing acumen that I once corrected a friend who was talking me up to strangers over the number of books I had sold. I was very embarrassed to note it was twice what he'd said.

My anxiety is super high today. I have a novel I want to read so I think I'm going to do that today and won't be on social media too much, if at all. I'll pop in later and let everyone know how the marrow bones turned out.

It seems a good day to remind myself that I already succeeded in my biggest author dream, which was to reach at least one reader who absolutely loves one of my books. The fact that some people are meh about it doesn't matter. I just hope each of my books can reach at least one reader like that...
