Got notified that I’ve reached 400 citations of articles I’ve written/cowritten! Much of that has come post PhD as well! It feels very validating—when I first started thinking about publishing during my master’s degree, I never thought I’d get to this point. Onward and upward!

My wife and I still vote in Washington state, where we are registered--a state where all ballots are mail-in. When we wanted to switch our registration from Ohio to Washington, we had to go to the local Board of Elections, and show proof of citizenship and address to be eligible to vote.

I've lived on the West Coast for nearly 5 years now, and I am still amazed that I can leave my house and, within 10 minutes of walking, be right by the ocean. Talk about building a strong geographic sense of place--water is a major part of my life in so many different ways.

My wife was appointed as a clinical instructor at UBC, as part of their regular work as an audiologist. They'll likely supervise graduate students seeking practicum experience in audiology. This also means that, technically, we are now colleagues. Are we an academic couple? 😆

The more I think about it, the more I think that a SkyTrain or light rail transit would be incredibly useful in Victoria. I'd ride it. I also do not think there is the political will to build such a system. People are already complaining about bike lanes daily. Imagine LRT taking up street space?
