With @mozilla.org CEO Anthony Enzor-DeMeo wanting to turn @firefox.com into an "AI browser", I think it's time to find an alternative. This direction he wants to take Firefox in genuinely disgusts me and is abhorrent. Looks like @waterfox.net is a viable alternative.

It is beyond frustrating to me that the only alternative to Chromium is currently doing its best to try shoot itself in the foot. I've been using Firefox for most of my life, and to see a fumble like this when they're already on their backfoot is disappointing. Just switched to WaterFox instead.

New Waterfox updates are rolling out! On desktop, `6.6.5.1` brings a reversion to the default search (your modified choice remains untouched) and proper unloading of tree tabs when not in use. This should mean lower background memory usage and less conflicts with other tab extensions.

All my Linux laptops use @waterfox.net It's Firefox ESR with all the telemetry and other objectionable junk turned off. And it works with a global menu bar, which Firefox doesn't any more.

Me personally, I like @waterfox.net -- it works with global menu bars properly, too.
