Sick and tired? Influenza test positivity is very high in Ontario and remains the highest in children (5-11 yrs) at 73.3% and adolescents (12-19 yrs) at 67.3%. COVID-19 and RSV are also circulating. These viruses are airborne: we get sick by breathing them in! But it doesn't have to be this way!

Back to school means back to poor indoor air quality for our kids in Ontario’s schools and school buses. Indoor air quality has been shown to affect mental well-being, academic performance, and school attendance. These door hangers could serve as a helpful reminder that it’s time to clean the air.

Monitoring air quality and improving ventilation in schools and all indoor spaces is good for everyone’s health.

I don’t understand the continued resistance to clean air policies. It would be more cost effective & people would be healthier. Students would have continuity to their education. My kid just lost a teacher mid semester (not sure the reason but overall illness is contributing to the staff shortage).

It is shocking how much time PH spends reviewing students’ vaccine records sending out threats of expulsion on kids who may have fell behind during the pandemic or whose parents didn’t up date their records on line and literally almost no effort is put into ensuring healthy air quality in class.
