This is disappointing! The North-East produces exceptional research! Iāve had the privilege of working alongside world leaders in Lewy body dementia at Newcastle University. Transparency as to how these institutions were selected is definately needed!

I feel seen as an ECR dependant on grant funding for continued employment. Some excellent points raised in this blog, and interesting discussion about how research grants are funded. Very much worth a read.

We set aside 20min in class for a Q&A on funding a lab, federal funding, IDCs, and ongoing policy shifts. Was definitely not enough time. Such great and insightful questions Probably could have taken the whole class Anyway. 10/10 would recommend
