Role Announcement: Today The Precinct was released on PS5, Xbox, and Steam. I had the pleasure of playing several roles including Detective Ferrera who is just a full on caricature of an 80's city detective. Made me giggle every time I had to record him. The game looks like a blast!

ok, so over time your dreams change. Lately I've changed my Voice Acting DREAM: I want to work in a project with @alexhirsh.bsky.social His work is just so fun and timely. The quality of the story telling is so good and the characters make me smile. The goal is set. Let's get it.

My 8 year old daughter just discovered first hand that you CANNOT sneak up and "spook" my wife. I now have a wife in the bathroom changing her freshly peed pants and an 8 year old girl in tears after hearing my wife scream bloody murder while jumping up and down.

So is ACX just a complete waste of time now? It seems almost EVERY title I audition for is removed by the author within a day or two. Why waste my time?

What I have learned about voice acting this year. Honestly a lot but really a couple things that have helped me: 1) the perfect read/performance does not exist so stop trying to find it and 2) Confidence in whatever you are doing in every read makes a MASSIVE difference.

Pretty sure someone just tried to scam me on voices.com. Folks, if someone asks for personal info (or a W9) for "contract reasons" on a casting site that handles agreements and payments...ASK and get confirmation before you just email someone everything.

Just found out I booked it! What a nice little Christmas present. It’s nothing huge but it’s a good confidence boost and a nice resume get. Woo!

Just wrapped up files for a call back I’d very much like to get. Yes yes…I’m letting it go…but I’d still like it. ;-)

Sat in the booth for an hour. Tried to record things. Everything feels terrible. Not in the booth any more. Just one of those mornings. I’m sure I can as doing fine…but I hated absolutely everything that I was doing. Sigh.

whelp...it happened again. You do some auditions, you feel like a few of them you NAILED...and those are the ones that you don't get. Then there are a couple that were crap...and you land those. *shrug*. This job!?!?

So…there is a persistent low frequency hum near my house. It’s been here for a week. Doesn’t seem to bother anyone but me. It’s super low but it permeates the house. It has to be some electric equipment. It’s in my recordings though and driving me mad. I’m not even sure who to call. Gah!

So, in the last year I have spent a lot of emotional capital on people and efforts that have had very little to do with my chosen vocation or my immediate family and their well being. Without being specific, the events of the week have given me a new perspective. This all changes now. LFG folks!
