As an early estimate, Page 25 of Sodacan and Roadkill will probably be done somewhere around January. (Also Page 24 got done the other day in case you missed it.) Could be done earlier, of course, but November and especially December are usually pretty full of everything, so I wouldn't count on it.

Page 24.

Done! Page 24 in the bag. More or less anyway. The clock is like a million and I have work tomorrow so finishing touches on the dialogue as well as general quality assurance will have to wait. But even so, Page 24 is coming out in the next 24 hours.

Page 24 is so close to being done now. It's literally shading the last few objects of the last panel. After that, editing the text bits to not be terrible and then it's done. I just might fulfill my promise of having this done in October after all. I'm as surprised as you are.

Okay, you all know shading is my favorite part of the drawing process. I couldn't just leave it all for next week. Thus I squeezed in just enough time in the morning to get one panel done. But the rest of the page will definitely be done next week, I swear.

Colors for Page 24 are done. Only shading and finishing touches left to do. That will most likely happen next weekend.

All the outlines of Page 24 are done, including this cluttered mess and a few other things that I've intentionally hidden from this preview. Next up, colors and shading. I think I'll be done with this within the next two weeks. At least I certainly hope so.

Some modest progress on background elements this week. The nice thing about backgrounds is that you can quite often recycle some or all parts of your previous background drawings for the next panel. Saves hours sometimes. Unfortunately the same is rarely true for characters.

Development started on page 24. Summer holidays are over for me, and I'm back to work and to doing my other hobbies, so do expect a significant drop in productivity. It will probably be at least September before this one's done.

I got the shading done much faster than expected. Page 23 is coming out tomorrow! I think the shading turned out really nice too. There might be more bloom than in the original Oblivion but I think it really fits the mood I was going for.

Any of you remember those two sketches from the other week where I lamented the difficulty of drawing crotches from almost directly underneath? Well this is how those two turned out. Possibly the best two panels I ever drew. I just might be getting better at this after all.

Here's the first (more or less) finished panel of Page 21. Wanted to do a vertical slice as a morale booster for myself. Turned out great if I do say so. The rest of the panels will take a while still - they have a lot more detail to draw - but even so I'm making really good progress here.

Page 21 production is back on track. I got character inks and basic coloring done today. Next up: environments, details and shading. With any luck, my estimate of early July will be very early indeed.

It's been a while since the last one, but at long last here's Page 20 of Sodacan and Roadkill! Trying to put the summer holiday to use and get Page 21 done much faster. Except the next page some time in July.

Page 20 is fully inked, coloring is almost done, and 2 of the 4 panels are fully shaded. Shading is always my favorite part of the process. It's the part where garbage turns into something that actually resembles art. It's a huge morale boost after struggling with the inks.

Progress update on Page 20. Been slogging away for the entire day more or less, but I've gotten a lot done too. Sketches got finalized and half of the inking is done already. I'm really trying to get the whole thing done this week, as next week is busy. Regardless, except a new page before July.

A progress update, since you all were curious. This comic is a casual hobby, and as such work, well-being and even social obligations all have to come first, but even so I should have both time and energy to devote to this soon. I'll post some WIPs when I have something more substantial to show.

Page 19. They have names now.

Did a few tweaks; fixed a few mistakes. For those who insist on doing the world's most annoying spot-the-difference puzzle, there are 7 tweaks in total but of which I would say only 4 are actually perceptible without tools. Page with speech bubbles still going live some time tomorrow.

The several weeks of busy that I warned about five weeks ago is just about over now and I've finally had the time and energy to make progress on Sodacan and Roadkill again. Page 19 should only be days away now instead of weeks.

Had a one-week holiday this week. Made really good initial progress on Page 19. The next several weeks are looking pretty busy both at work and outside of it, though, so I can't make any promises on the release date yet.

Page 18.

It took the entire day and also a canceled tabletop session, but Page 18 is done! As usual, text version coming some time tomorrow after a final inspection.

Okay, I said I'd be done in about a week and it's now been two weeks already, but in my defense it was an intense two weeks at work. Also I have made good progress in the meantime. Not much longer now. Promise.

Page 18 is coming along. Inks almost all done! If all goes smoothly, the entire page should be done in about a week.

This year I drew 6 comic pages and an art trade on top of that. A steady performance. As my New Year's resolution, I promise to keep the flame burning and make at least as many pages more.
