I really hope Martha Thomas gets the game time that she needs with Liverpool. I was not expecting her to leave this window but this squad is actually looking fairly deep. Hopefully Araya and Lenna get the chance to go on loan this window to get a starting spot somewhere.

Some nice nuances in this video about players coming back from long injuries, and how expectations that players will be the same can be a harmful outlook.

I thought Spurs looked pretty good in the 1st half by pretty consistently getting the ball into the 10's who could drive inside (especially Gaupset). For as good as the CB's have been this season, having them follow attackers as deep as they do

Obviously this is a good sign of their intentions to get promoted and I wouldn't be surprised to see them look at CB's (depth) and a backup striker this window.

It's not really a surprise, but it's still sad to see Ipswich let go of Joe Sheehan. The timing feels a bit odd given they're just coming back from the winter break and they've had to deal with quite a few injuries. I thought they also looked pretty decent in their last 2 games and they got a draw

Didn't realise that Ji So-Yun's loan with Birmingham was only for the first half of the season. She was genuinely one of my favourite players to watch the past few months. That midfield was so fluid on the ball

A holding midfielder and a rw (that can play on the left too) would make this a lovely window.

Beatta Olsson is looking like a real gunslinger for Liverpool. As basic as it sounds, just moving the ball onto her left to better protect it before the shot on her left is elite stuff

I like this Durham team, and I honestly think they have quite a bit more to give this season. Against Southampton they put in arguably their best performance of the season, despite only coming out with a draw.

Watching Palace's women's team is a great experience for the fact that Abbie Larkin has the greenest light to shoot ridiculous shots from outside the box. Her goal catalogue at the end of the season should be great

This is a really interesting video on corners. An interesting point that is pointed out as well is that such a small % of wsl goals are scored from corners. It's also nice to see Spurs get a brief mention.

Something I wrote about the current bottom 3 teams in the WSL2 and how they've fared this season. I'm quite high on Sheffield so far but I think there's still some intriguing players that are playing for Ipswich and Portsmouth too.

It's a bit of a farce that this has won goal of the month. I rate this Bristol team, but there's no way this should have won over some of the other goals. Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah's goal was probably the best.

So... this game was a bit mad. Here's Angelina Nixon's golazo after only being on the pitch for 3 minutes that got Pompey level. This game had everything you could really ask for: goal controversies, this long range banger and a penalty late on to win Ipswich the game.

Lucia Kendall really belongs at this level. It's been nice seeing her back as a 6 after playing as a 10 last season, and she's looked decent defensively. Between her and Olivia McLoughlin (not including Mace because everyone knows how good she is), England have got some really good

Birmingham currently sit at the top of the WSL2 table and a big factor in this hot start is the form of their wide players. Here's how a very basic rotation, and new life on Birmingham's flanks have caused opposition defences problems so far.

That result isn't catastrophic for the season of course, and the early evidence suggests that Ho looks quite adaptable with his initial lineups, and switching player roles during the games. The improvements will still come, it might just be a difficult process.

I hope Jo Potter sticks with Blanchard and Vanhervemaet in midfield. There's a really nice balance of creativity and physicality between the two of them and Blanchard's deeper starting position let her dictate play from deep, as well as allow her more time on the ball.

I'm well aware that it's not worth being annoyed about FIFA ratings, but Ash Neville getting a minus 2 is criminal. I played a bit of career mode this cycle and it was pretty maddening that some players couldn't play in the positions they do irl.

Spurs spending over 200k on Tandberg is fairly encouraging. Still hoping for one more through the door, but I'm not holding my breath. That said, and maybe this is misplaced, but I'm reasonably hopeful for this season. I don't think Spurs will be as bad as many think.

I'd like to hope that Spurs wouldn't sanction Csiki's loan w/o having another rw option (even though I know she mostly played centrally when she did get minutes) or some sort of versatile player, that they could bring in.

The way United have gone about selling Clinton is why it's still so easy to dunk on them as a football fan. The fact that they'd rather sell her than face the prospect of her running her contract down, shows the sad state of how some clubs operate in the WSL.

If Spurs Women are only able to get one player in then I just hope that they go for a rw. It's pretty much the only position without a natural starter in that role. I don't mind the idea of Naz starting there, but she'd be a bit wasted there

I actually can't believe that Spurs are streaming the Southampton friendly on YouTube (in a good way). I've got to say though that I really wish that was the standard for pre-season friendlies in the women's game.
