I've completely rewritten an old novella to the point that - apart from the fundamental plot - it's completely different. Including 12 new chapters, 7 new characters. But some people think don't think it counts as a new book. "I've already read it so I won't again." Don't then! I don't need ya!

I saw The Killings at Badger's Drift (Midsomer Murders) play at Richmond Theatre yesterday. I loved it because it took dialogue from the 1987 novel. It was a hybrid between book and TV. It was cool seeing Daniel Casey (Troy on TV) playing DCI Barnaby. The dream sequence made me laugh out loud.

2nd Draft update: I feel the story is more streamlined now. I took the end of chapter 3 and the beginning of chapter 6 and moulded them into a new chapter. Things feel more open, clearer. Like the sky in this photo The only problem is the chapter isn't finished... argh! #authorsky #photography

Selfishly, I'm fine with GTA VI being delayed. I set my goal to finish two novels by the time it was due in Autumn this year. I decided to write four books instead of two, so this is all good...

I'm writing my book in US English because it's set there, except I'm using the British speech mark style because it's the way my keyboard is set. Sometimes I slip up and use an UK term but I think I've got the hang of US. I also set Word to United States which means it's read in an American accent.

Just three chapters to finish until my first book is done! I am excited now. The opening chapter was tough but it's now completed; just needs its first proofread. No doubt the first of many. #writingcommunity
