I've been really grateful for Tony's support as we've launched The Exchange, and it's great to see Media North mag picking up the story:

You’ve probably heard enough of us telling you why it would be great if you joined. But what if you could hear from the people who have already signed up about why they wanted to get involved?

I'm very sorry to hear this news. Giles was a huge help last year when we were doing our reporting on Andrew Milne and Sheffield leaseholds. He was very generous with his time and clear in his advice.

Would you believe it, we pretty much did this in one take. I'm a natural. More important though is what I'm saying: that Sheffield's inequalities need a proper looking at. So go to:

It is absolutely extraordinary for the special advisor of a serving cabinet minister to be threatening a British media outlet with an injunction on what seem like deeply spurious grounds. You cannot get an injunction for defamation: the saying is "publish, and be damned" for exactly that reason.

It is such a relief to have a paper like
@manchestermill.bsky.social
as our local paper! This story really did worry me (it still does), and having the Mill on it means those of us in the community will have a better understanding of what is going on.
