D5 I'm getting blackberries again. A real theme for me tonight. It's so smokey, it's so old. The Dog-ends remain. It's a great big whisky hug on a cold winter's night. Love this. LOVE it. #BlindDrams

D5 Aged smoke on the nose. Touch of pink germolene. Like the book section of a charity shop....but in a good way 😅 There's something sweet in here but I can't get to it because it's dog-ends for days. #BlindDrams

D4 This is a great dram. Loads of the flavours I typically love but it's really complex and interesting with each sip. This pale and yet so powerful caught me offguard. I'll certainly be buying a bottle if it's an equally delicious price 4/5 #BlindDrams

D4 Now we're talking. Salty, red liquorice, berry glazed gammon, subtle smoke, overly cooked bacon with a touch of tobacco, old leather and crème de mûre The taste and colour of this don't make sense in my head. So pale. So powerful. #BlindDrams

D4 Meaty. BBQ pork ribs. Beef monster munch. A bit of must and dunnage in there too. I would normally associate this with some Oloroso influence but I'm not convinced... by far the strongest nose so far. By far the more interesting. #BlindDrams

D3 If I bought this anywhere other than a supermarket I'd be disappointed. It's got some faint flavours which could have made this a decent dram but it's just sooooo weak. It needs to be either less diluted or given more time in the barrel before bottling Yet it somehow sneaks a 2/5 #BlindDrams

D3 It's really soft. Faints cola cube note on the palate first. It turns savoury before becoming quite bitter with a slight hint of cheap, questionable honey. But there's absolute zero finish on this. It disappears quickly! Adding water turn this to water....😅 #BlindDrams

D3 furniture polish and faint cola cubes up first on the nose. It's then quite savoury. salted kettle chips. It's very subtle though. If I really build up the vapours then there's something like fresh cut grass with a considerable daisy presence in there too. #BlindDrams

D2 Water killed it, don't add water imho. A very drinkable dram, though one I'd have when I'm not paying full attention. It's not overly complex, but the building orange dominant flavours were quite nice. It's just nice enough to sneak into a 3/5 #BlindDrams

D2 Blackberries to taste initially. There's something quite Blair Athol about this for me. Oranges, a little bit nutty and a touch of butter. The more I drink it the more the oranges stand out. It's syrup like. Sugar syrup notes too. It doesn't feel that far from an old fashioned #BlindDrams

D2 Scones with blackcurrant jam on the nose. There's something of the garden about it too. Not a powerful nose on this one. #BlindDrams

D1 Not for me this one. All spicy, little nice. Left with a cold black tea taste long after it's gone. I'm not bitter....it is. 1/5 The rest of this is going into the infinity bottle. #BlindDrams

D1 Maybe some faint orange flavours, there's something quite metalic in here too. The pepper. Lots and lots of pepper! Couple of doubs smooth it out, but the lack of up any up front flavour just stands out more. It's all just a bit disappointing sadly. #BlindDrams

Back on the #BlindDrams for the first time in what feels like forever. Named "Pardonnez Mon Francais" we've been assured it's not 5 French whiskies.... J'espère vraiment que c'est vrai.

D5 Rushing through this now because I want to know what this is. It's so rich and smoky. This is a firepit of a whisky and I could sit here all night 5 out of 5. #BlindDrams

D5 NOW. WE'RE. TALKING! Frazzles and lardons, engine oil, cheese, bonfire embers, something unique like Kansas City BBQ rub. This smells AMAZING Oh my word! This is delicious. Everything I could smell I can taste. Not strong abv wise I'd say but it's a gorgeous dram. I'm in heaven #BlindDrams

D4 I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this one. It's the sort of thing I normally love, but it's lacking a little something. It's not quite savoury or smokey enough on the palate to really stand out. It's a solid dram, but don't think I can go higher than a 3/5 #BlindDrams

D4 Nose has a hint of smoke. Meaty too, like a pork chop overly seasoned with pepper. Just savoury notes on this one. Faint hint of pork pie pastry, due to a slight butter note. It's dry again. Hot honey sauce. Old leather, I got pork on the nose but it's more lamb roast to taste. #BlindDrams

D3 A doubs of water brings out some more rich caramel flavours. There's something at the back of my throat though which makes it a little bitter on the finish, which is a shame as this could have been a belter. In the end though, a respectable 3/5 on this one. #BlindDrams

D3 Nose is sultanas & rock buns. Or highland shortbread with a milky cup of coffee. There's something very 11am about the smell of this...which is probably worrying 😅 To taste, it's boozy, fizzzy, but dry and slightly sweet. A well baked, low sugar apple strudel comes to mind #BlindDrams

D2 Smells musty and a little like the bitter dampness of poorly dried clothes. Not a fan.... Nothing much to note on th taste with this either. Very thin, more feelings than flavour and those feelings are spicy ones. Can score this quickly as a 1 and more on tbh #BlindDrams

D1 Score Decent dram. Wonder if this is a Loch Lomond. Has some of the character I've found in their distillery editions An easy drink, sweet, the more I have the more it reminds me of pancake day. Jif lemon juice (not cleaner), castor sugar and pancake mix It's a solid 3/5 for me #BlindDrams

D1 Nose - champagne, evervescence, lemon drops. To taste, honey, lemon, lockets. Little pineapple in there too. Absolutely a whisky to make a hot toddy with. It feels young, and fairly simplistic, not a bad dram just nothing all that exciting #BlindDrams

D5 Salty, deep heat laced lemon syrup. It suggests up front it's going to be sweet but it's absolute liquorice and tobacco. There's a bit of rubber and a real hemp note there too. Reminds me of my bagpipe playing days... #BlindDrams

D4 There's a lovely complex nature to this, which brings a solid peat level but with plenty of other salty and sweet notes to keep my going back for another quick sip. I'd promised myself I wouldn't buy another bottle this year, but at the right price this might push me A strong 4/5 #BlindDrams

D4 Ah this is lovely. Oily, industrial, smokey, and salty with hints of oranges, old fashioned syrup and burnt brown sugar. Feels Campbeltowny I think... #BlindDrams

D3 Some decent flavours, but far too subtle and the firey finish dominates. After a heavenly first dram, hell hath been bestowed upon me with drams 2 & 3 delivering heartburn and a scorchedophagus (future Ardbeg release?) No vomit this time, so this get's a 2/5 #BlindDrams

D3 Thick and creamy up front. Really dry fruit cake notes. Salty, savoury, but something like strawberry creamola foam....then a world of burn and pepper. First two sips singed but after that it's simmered. #BlindDrams

D1 To taste...still Caol Ila so it's that (or Torabhaig potentially). It's young, fizzy, smokey, with a light lemon citrus note and a hint of grapefruit. Surely bourbon finish only. A cracking start. #BlindDrams

D1 On the nose...Caol Ila. Has to be. It's all that coastal, unique smokey smell from the Islay distillery you hit first (when landing at Port Askaig) tar, old boats in an old harbour. Smells great! #BlindDrams

D5 ok, I could be wrong...cause could be Caol Ila or Torabhaig (if I was right 🙏) This is soooooo ashy. It's the smell on your clothes after a drunken night next to an outdoor woodburner. There's a deliciously savoury fruit note in here too. Redcurrant jam on a juicy leg of lamb. #BlindDrams

D5 Peat is here too, but it's not Islay peat...it's lusher than that. Arbroath Smokies, American pastrami, a smell I very much associate with fishing for trout on Gladhouse reservoir on one of the dark green rowing boats. Love this. Plucking some memory strings... #BlindDrams

D4 This has been my favourite so far. All the elements of a BBQ sauce drizzled bit of fatty pork off a fire. All subtle though, just enough to keep you going back for another sip. A solid 4/5 on this one. Under £80 and I'll buy a bottle of this tonight #BlindDrams

D4 Salty first, then sweet. I'm sticking with my kebab off the BBQ theme from the nose as this feels like a pork kebab with a kansas style BBQ sauce on it. There's a subtle soft smoke here, with something sweet like a really juicy slightly burnt bit of yellow pepper. #BlindDrams

D4 Musty on the nose. pencil shavings, some very faint smoke in there too. The smell you get from the wooden kebab sticks after they've been on the BBQ. It's all very subtle though #BlindDrams

D3 The finish on this holds it back. It's sucks your cheeks in with a sour and dry finish that is just a little bit disappointing. I'm going to end up giving this a 2/5 which I'm disappointed at as initially though this could be a cracker #BlindDrams
