There are many, many cool moments in the documentary ('Her Name Was Moviola') but my favourite is when the only way to watch their synced footage is on Stanley Kubrick's old machine, and you see Murch (3 Oscars) geek out a little bit. And later he goes back with Mike Leigh, and Leigh geeks out too.

Saw Her Name Was Moviola with a crowd of NERDS and Murch in the room. Bears many repeat viewings. In a short time gives a complete and fun perspective on the care and thought put into celluloid editing, and editing as a dialogue between filmmakers. I’ve spent the last few days working with my team of colleagues to document the buildings and stages in the Fairbanks Building and Neptune House at BBC Elstree Centre in 360° and LiDAR. Built for ATV in 1960 and 61, these two buildings are due to be demolished later this year.

I won an RTS award for editing tonight. For a film I edited, directed and produced with a production company I set up by myself. I never thought it would be possible for me to achieve something like this. I’m so grateful to Walter Murch for trusting me with his concept and story.

Three interviews lined up, with two more agreed to be scheduled; along with gall bladder surgery to be done in a few weeks. Busy month coming up.
