The EMD powered RSC-2R is coming to life after as a GP20 repowering after the GP18 shell had paint issues. Looks pretty fun and unique compared to the RSC-2M ALCO repowering.

New coach has been started. A 60' labelle 1905 kit with slightly shortened sides because Im turning it into another narrow vestibule car. Annoyingly, due to the shortening, the windows are now not aligned. Oh well.

One of the most beautiful 4-8-2 designs is also one of the last, the Rutland's L-1 class of 1946. ALCO really knocked it out of the park.

Looks like the MBTA is joining in on the Heritage Unit fun! Boston and Maine scheme looks sharp on a F40PH. From the linked article, it sounds like there'll also be a New Haven unit and New York Central unit (Boston & Albany?) in the near future too.

Just noticed how INSANE the air-horn setup on the nose of this FRISCO 4-8-2 is. Note the curved front bells(!!). What on earth did this early 4 chime sound like?!

I always dreamed of going over this little bridge in Larkspur/ Corte Madera every time we'd drive north and dodge the wooden pilings on the most hair-raising part of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Glad that the steel portion of the bridge remains, even if the approaches are gone.

Didnt get to work on the coach, but I did start to look at my brass NYC&HR 999 to see what needs doing. Firstly, Im rewheeling and remotoring using Markits drivers and a HighLevel gearbox. Came with 80" wheels, replacing with correct 86". Also need to add the coupler pocket on the pilot.

Also on the bench is these old 'open ender' car kits. Since theyre whitemetal, I decided to solder them rather than glue. So a nice soak in alcohol for a few days and theyre all clean ready for building. Might paint them an ochre color for some much earlier cars.

The NYC&HR class L / T-1 / S-1 6000 is now 'finished'. Just needs a light weathering and maybe pickup shoes. Yes, T-1 is correct. They werent reclassed as S motors until ~1908 when they were rebuilt with 2 axle trucks making them 2-D-2's.
