I’m thinking about work tomorrow I wonder how many other jobs expect the sort of GP type decisions, to be made in 8 minute time windows… for the whole day Literally. It’s a genuine enquiry - do mechanics have a similar working period? Plumbers? Electricians?

Why do private consultants expect NHS GPs to handle their tasks without resources but resist doing them themselves? "I find it perplexing that there is an expectation for GPs to perform this work without resources, while it is deemed inappropriate for you to manage it."

General question to non-clinicians who might consider using AI for their own healthcare purposes: If it is wrong, who would you hold responsible? NB: as of this moment, I’m not aware of any medical device which incorporates GenAI having passed regulation. Not to say it won’t happen, but not yet.

Over the last week, I have had 7 referrals rejected. Every single one proudly states that the GP should manage the patient in the community. Not a single one tells me who has made this decision. This might seem like a little thing but from my point of view it is huge.
