So I was right. Goma was their mom. Unfortunately Petunia died on our street before I could trap them. We did catch Peri though. He was 8 weeks old and without a sib, so he joined an odd numbered litter about the same age so they could go out in pairs.

Well that didn't take long at all! Sasha went through so much in her little life. I wish her a worry free new life with her new family!

Well this was a new development yesterday. We found kittens in our yard. We are calling them Periwinkle and Petunia as we thought they were baby skunks at first. Peri (black and white) is more bold. Petunia (grey and white) more skittish. I'm going to try to trap them, I think.

Deacy Update! We are so pleased to report that Deacy’s blood transfusion was 100% successful and his anemia has resolved   His kitty blood donor saved his life!  Deacy is now expected to make a full recovery.  He has been treated for mycoplasma and has begun his 84 day treatment protocol for FIP.

Sasha is in for her spay today. Thinking good thoughts for her. One of the other things I love about her is her little peach colored patch right on her chin.

Sasha's still not super cuddly, but when she does do it, she seems to enjoy it for a little while.

One of the things I love about Sasha is that although she is skinny, her tail is very fat and it has a white tip. It makes her look even more like a little fox fairy. Hopefully we'll plumpen her up enough that she can grow into her tail.

OMG, Sasha spent the first two weeks with us in heat, had like a week and change off, and is now BACK in heat, writhing around on the floor in the throes of passion and showing everyone her butt. I guess this is why there are so many kittens in the world.

Sasha has the food motivation of a starving locust. In an attempt to make sure she doesn't inhale all of her food at once and then barf it and also give her a little stimulation, my extremely low rent food puzzle.

Sasha is a fantastic eater who has been consuming as much food as Mason who was 3x her size. After a silent 2 weeks with little peeps, she's become way more vocal. Yelling to let me know she would like a snack and then dramatically finding crumbs to eat.

Sasha is the sweetest cat in the world. She's going to make someone so happy someday soon.

This morning we debated the serious question of whether Musubi could be the pope. We concluded that she would never tolerate wearing any hat and therefore was not qualified to be the pope.

It's Beam Season. Where Musubi is referred to as Beamy Baby or the Hound of the Baskervilles. (Look neither of those is particularly intuitive but it's just what we call her, sue me.)

I can finally bear to post these pics when Musubi was totally stoned on painkillers. (She's fine now) One hour after she got her dose, she just slumped over on her side and got all wobbly, which was a side effect. She was extremely clingy all day which was sad but terribly cute.

We fostered him when he was too freaked out to groom himself and was covered with matted fur and acted 10 years older than he actually was. So happy to see the beautiful prince he became. Wishing Mason and his new family so much love and happiness! May he drink from every cup!

Mason is trying out life as a shop cat at Pet Valu Beaumont. It's a little bittersweet to see him go and (hopefully) not see him again. I'm a little worried about how he'll adjust, but he's a wonderful giant guy and he'll have more eyes on him this way.

Something that people often mention is the shame they feel openly grieving a pet, and it’s really sad. We often spend more time with our pets than with other people in our family, we’re responsible for their well being and they completely depend on us. It’s ok to grieve them and pay our respects.

We made a braised pork and Musubi parked herself right by my plate and kept trying to stick her head into my food. When I reached out to nose boop her, she would absent mindedly nibble my finger. (I guess hoping I was giving her pork.)
