comparison of painting from cels with my traditional brush vs. with the sculptor brush (further edited after having torrented corel painter and downloaded the brush from sinix) (the krita manual's default settings are way too sensitive to blend properly). had worked it with the default-thus it sucks

i finally cracked the code that the reason why painters tell you edges are a major factor in painting is that, there arent ever any linear gradients. ive been trying to paint linear gradients for like 2 years. youre just supposed to blend the edge

its time to pay another $200 to an artist to teach me light and shadow since i do not otherwise know.
