Just finished watching #Superman! I loved it. The first few minutes literally brought a tear to my eye, seeing just how hopeful and colorful this world and rendition of Superman is. I could see the love and care directly on the screen. It's such a fresh breath of air.

Reading Fate Core rules has made me confront some of my GMing habits lmao. The idea of "roll only when there's an interesting outcome to either success or failure" seems really simple, but I've been so used to rolling as a means of determining severity for so long.

I've been really loving playing Solo D&D. It's nice to be able to pick up my adventure at any time and put it down when I'm feeling tired. It's also fun seeing things unfold semi-randomly. Really, the only thing I'm missing is my friends 😅

FREE ADVICE: so, there's a filmmaking concept called "business." "Business" is, essentially, the stuff your character does while talking. Fixing a car engine, ice skating, eating an ice cream cone, ducking gunfire. You gotta give your characters "business" so they're not just standing there yappin'.

I think I'm going to try rolling in the open from now on for my big boss fights. Last game I ran, letting the players know exactly what the stakes were and showing them how close we were to rolling above or below the targets seemed to work in increasing the tension where there honestly wasn't any 🤔
