AirPods Pro 3 heart rate monitoring seems to work pretty well, modulo Apple's awful bluetooth/software. The AirPods must be paired to the phone, so e.g. you cannot watch AppleTV with the AirPods and get heart rate. You also have to keep the phone active to avoid it auto-connecting to the TV

My home automation experience is mixed and I am too old for nonsense. Here's my review of everything I've tried: X10 - OLD SCHOOL, did not work if anything was weird with your wires at home. Nest - as mentioned, pretty bad. Devices look nice? Software was garbage from day 1, never improved.

I write end-to-end browser tests because it feels like the right thing to do and is nice to have the coverage. But it 100% sucks to write, does not make anything faster, makes the system overall more difficult to work on, and the tooling sucks and it sucks hard.

Realizing ruby-lsp self-updates, I tried downgrading to see if I could find a version that worked, as it totally worked when I first set it up. I had to turn off my network to prevent self-updating, but when the network is down, it doesn't seem to work at all.

Welp, ruby-lsp just stopped finding definitions. Nothing has changed - I have a completely isolated reproducible environment. ruby-lsp provides no debug abilities, does not log anything. --doctor just prints a list of files, --debug does nothing.

Yup. ActiveRecord validations will not help you. Every single project I've worked on that didn't have foreign key constraints had orphaned records, even with Rails' validations correctly modeling the relationships.

Since Twilio rejected my business license and won't allow me to send reminder SMS, this means my SendGrid account is inaccessible, too. So I'm looking at other options, and MailGun is my current pick. It's "Ruby code examples" just use Net::HTTP and I think this is the way(ish)
