#WhiteArmbandDay: In May 1992, Serb forces in Prijedor forced Bosniak and Croat civilians to wear white armbands and mark their homes. They were identified, targeted, and sent to camps or killed. This was the beginning of ethnic cleansing. #WeRemember

On Friday 30 May, Remembering Srebrenica will commemorate White Armband Day with a poignant event at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in London, hosted by His Excellency Ambassador Osman Topčagić.

#OnThisDay in 2011, Ratko Mladić, “the Butcher of Bosnia”, was arrested after years in hiding. He was indicted for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

#OTD in 2019 the Ferhadija Mosque in Banja Luka was reopened, 23 years to the day it was demolished by Bosnian Serb forces in an effort to “ethnically cleanse” the region. After a nine year reconstruction project, the grand Mosque opened its doors once again to worshippers.
