For no particular reason I've been working on a little immediate mode GUI framework in #motc. So far supports nested scrollable regions, popup dialogs and drop down lists. I might use it to make a little tiled pixel art editor.

Mot's Grand Prix Remastered has been released. This is a rewrite of the Pico-8 original version in MotC, with 320x240 graphics, analogue controller support and touch screen steering on mobile devices. And it now has a qualification lap :-) tommulgrew.itch.io/mots-grand-p...

ok there we go- the proporpions and the trim are working better for me. i added a second layer of subtle folded noise over the spheres (pardon my weird glitchy lighting after generation).

My house has stupid lightbulbs that you can't find anywhere. ...except on one website where they have 6 1-star reviews, of the form: "Blew up after 24 hours. Was lucky the house didn't catch fire." Not the most compelling testimony :(

This one's based on the Dornier Do 28. A bit bigger and heavier, so a little more challenging to fly. #pico8

The first unlockable plane is the Pitts Special. Or at least my best #pico8 impersonation of one :) A bit smaller and a lot more nimble than the Cessna.

Trying out a little cockpit. I kinda like it - slightly more immersive. Also, turns out that you can get a 20% speed up by only rendering the top 80% of the screen. Who knew? #pico8

Slowly starting to build up a set of missions. It looks like compressed space will be the main limiting factor now. Basically they're all flying through waypoints, so you have to use your imagination a bit when the game says you're crop dusting, or doing an airdrop. #pico8

My little #pico8 flight sim has its first proper mission. Take off from one island and land on another. Starting to feel a bit like a game now.

Implemented waypoints and a basic scoring system. Earn stars to unlock more missions. Still pretty healthy token wise, but compressed space may become an issue with regards to adding a decent selection of missions. I may have to sacrifice some lesser used boat and car models. #pico8

Added a "photo mode" to my little #pico8 flight sim. You can also use it to explore the map in general. This also means I can check the placement of things without having to take off and fly over there.
