The funny thing is that it is the right who more often know of and use the system for their political gain while the left misinforms their constituents with, for instance, PAYGO. Don't get me wrong, the right lies as well with the household analogy, etc, but when it suits them, spend easily.

It would be difficult for the political right to justify the under use of resources by the government so they are always going to try to discredit MMT in the eyes of the public.

The household model that has dominated government policy for decades is a lie designed to make unpopular far right fiscal policies appear to be economic necessities. Simply exposing the lie makes MMT appear to be of the left.
