#ClogLard is a wonderful excuse to gawk at Bas de Rue's painting skills with these 18mm AB Figures French Hussars. This year he is back in 1806 hosting Rüchel's counterattack at Jena.

This was the setup for our Roadblock scenario from the Chain of Command Far East Handbook, set in Timor 1942 at #HamburgerTactica. Road from Babaoe to Oesaoe from North to South, with a bridge crossing the river Amaabi. Oesaoe ridge on the West, roadblock manned by SNLF paratroopers on the bridge.

The Timor 1942 table for #HamburgerTactica is starting to look OK. The river needs junglification, the hills will have to be smoothened and the grass made greener in spots. In the meantime, working on Eucalyptus and palm trees, plus rice paddies for the final touch.

To get even more into the mood for my Timor 1942 game at #HamburgerTactica, I am playing "The Whole Sad Story" with my daughter. Part of the sad story is the botched OOB, with e.g. Portuguese militia in Dutch West-Timor 🙄 It should have been the other way around!

Why did I ever buy these plastic figures? I get bouts of avoidism just looking at the instructions. Good thing I have some metal minis to get a proper start on my 1942 Australian Rifle platoon/Independent Company for the Timor campaign.

Curious to find out how busy it will be tomorrow in Oudewater. This was the first time I saw my figures and Plungy's terrain together.

Working on a "sand table" for Oudewater 1575. For size, I fitted the wooden planks around the plates of previous projects (Oosterhout 1944 and Naarden 1673). The insides will be painted light blue.

With our Oudewater 1575 project nearing the end, we have started preparing small scenes like this lady with her wash line. All done by Plungy. In the meantime I am working on the more mundane task of basing 1000 infantry and adding flags.

Last action at the En Avant! Sharp Practice event at BIG Bristol that did not happen. These pioneers were ready to break down the monastery door, but never got the chance because force morale broke.

One can never have enough flags. This was my first Blood & Plunder naval battle. I like the general activation mechanism, but not too fond of the gamyness of commanders.

Painting Warlord Epic ECW in Spanish 1575 style. Lots of reds and yellow to make them look Spanisher for our Oudewater project. The Vallejo Game Wash is a huge time saver, but I am still wondering why they didn't wear uniforms back then!

It was such a joy to be able to play the brand new Crivitz scenario at #Cloglard, especially with Bas's gorgeous AB Frenchmen. Crossing a marsh crossing turned out to be a right challenge, so the French needed Soult's cavalry flank march to win the game.

I love it when a plan comes together. Last night we tested the GdA2 Crivitz game for #ClogLard. Terrain setup was a breeze because we had both been to the battlefield. The French 8th Line stormed Crivitz and took it on turn one, while their skirmishers were about to enter the marsh.

Yesterday we did a play test of the battle of Crivitz (3 November 1806), between Prussians and French. Just like the actual battle, the Prussians gave Bernadotte's Corps a bloody nose. It is a nice, small scenario with about 10 units on each side and the Prussians in a good defensive position.

The only contribution of my French Marines at the Sharp Practice event at BIG Bristol: taking down a wooden bridge.

Finished my first Canadian Jump Off Point. One thing I really love about the AB range of figures is that they provide lots of figures that, while not necessarily useful on the gaming table, tell great little stories as a vignette. #wargaming #SpreadTheLard #miniaturepainting #minipainting

Finished a Canadian 6pdr at-gun. Figures are as always 20mm from AB Figures down in Australia. The gun itself is from PSC and saying I was unimpressed with the model would be unserstating it. But I've finally finished something again, so I'm counting it as a win.

We are about to start our La Marcha SCW campaign for #ChainofCommand. It is based on ¡Atacar es Vencer! by Iron Ivan games, supplemented with ideas from The Spanish Foreign Legion 1936 by José Álvarez and the CoC España supplement.
