I really dislike the modern trend of TV shows being in cinematic ratios. They aren't being shown in movie theatres, no commercially available TV is that shape, and most wouldn't even hold up to scrutiny on a big screen in any case. Why pretend they're anything other than TV shows?

The best editing tip I have for writing is use text to speech. Legitimately a godsend, hearing your work in a different voice and cadence, even if it's robotic and fake. Makes picking out ugly sentences and typos a breeze.
