We are concerned about the new legal definition of 'sex' as 'biological' being taken to mean 'binary'; this is anti-scientific. This sets a worrying precedent, is likely to lead to psychological harm, injustice and abuse. We urge the government to revisit this immediately.

In 2019, the UK was 3rd place on @ilgaeurope.bsky.social's Rainbow Map of LGBTQ+ rights. Now, it has dropped to 15th place. And that's not just from other countries overtaking - in the last 10 years, the UK's score has plummeted from 86% to 51.88%.

Labour’s manifesto promised to “remove indignities for trans people”, yet the government’s ban on puberty blockers adopts the Tories’ politicised unevidenced approach. Young people — cis & trans — must have access to healthcare they need. I stand firmly with the trans community.

To trans kids and teens in the UK.. hang in there. Sadly the world is full of ignorance and bias. But your right to live your future the way you need to, as who you are, in safety, with dignity and to its full potential is so important to so many of us. We are just getting started.
