it's such a tragedy that dancesport au is so many thousands of words of akechi misgendering herself because i literally have to go back and self-edit to make sure i'm using the "right" pronouns in the context of the story. too unused to he/him'ing akechi in my moment to moment life.

lots of people have really good girljoker designs but i'm kind of proud of mine being the only one (that i've seen) with the high ponytail hair. that's my girl unique among all the stars in the heavens. you love akiza kurusu

i feel like one of my top goals with dancesport fic is to try to get people to engage with transfem akechi coming out to herself over a given span of time, rather than directly having her conscious and accepting of that aspect of herself from the get go as i have done in the past.

why is it that every time i open twitter i am flashbanged with something absolutely inane that reminds me why i don't bother to use the site. the struggle is that there's a lot of artists who still use it and i do like to see their art, but also. it is not worth this.

the other thing which is my favorite about dancesport au is that akechi unrelentingly refuses to engage with akira as "akira" and would rather interface with them as though they were a cis girl stranger in order to avoid the nature of her sins. she's normal about them.

sumire is very important to Dancesport AU in terms of the notion of her being a stealth trans girl whose experience in sports is complicated by her being stealth and "deceiving" people in positions of power into believing she's a cis girl.

oh also just realized i've officially hit 50k on dance au!! this will be my longest fic yet but i'm very pleased with it. i am approaching the end though so i may be able to start posting and finishing editing by the end of the month eheheheh.

i think it's funny that if i wasnt neck deep in persona 5 still, i'd probably be fandom on project sekai and that'd be crazy in its own way. say what you will about prsk but it has a canon trans girl and she's genuinely one of my fave all time characters no matter how they handle the vagueness.
