Today I learned there's always paramedics on standby at the Eiffel Tower. I know this because at lunch our littlest shoved a pea so far up his nose we needed the restaurant called the Eiffel Tower paramedics to come pull it out. Merci.

Haven't posted here in a while. Had a bad flare up of my ulcerative colitis over the past few months, just started a new fancy drug to treat it and still not anywhere near 100%. Right now powered by a course of steroids. But made it to France for a long planned family vacation and am still alive.

My first story was back in January 2017. My wife and I had been dating for 4 months and she was staffing Cecile's appearance on the Daily Show. She got me a ticket to the show, and I was dutifully tweeting and posting on Insta how excited I was to see Cecile on the show. 1/

If you were lucky enough you might just have a story about Cecile Richards. I have a couple, mostly of embarrassing my wife who worked for her. So much love to those who love her. Today is a heavy, heavy day. Find some lightness if you can.

Frozen 2 was better than Moana 2 but Moana 2 was pretty good. "She got more muscles," said the 4yo.

Welcomed two guest speakers this week to my classes at Howard to talk about how the election unfolded and the path forward. Big thanks to
@markusfordc.bsky.social

HU! 𦬠It was inspiring spending the afternoon with incredible members of βThe Herdβ β still committed to truth and service in the wake of a tough election. We talked about what the results mean for the country and where we go from here. Thanks to
@davestroup.com
for the invite!

Back in 2001 I launched my first blog to coincide with the Bush administration. It was just me as a high school kid going off about stuff. But I just bought the domain back again and might give blogging another go.

5 years ago my wife and I raced across the country to say goodbye to my dad in the ICU in Chicago. Tried to fly from DC but got diverted to Columbus due to snow. Rented a car, had to pull over while a tornado passed. But we made it. He died early morning April 15. He was 68. Anyhow, miss you.

Though my favorite thing is a video that's mostly audio because I set my phone down but it has Sebastian saying "holy moly this is a really special night" and "wow I'm so excited I'm running in circles." And also this photo from earlier.

Did you know that if you look at the credits to Radiohead's breakout hit "Creep," you'll notice a few non-Radiohead names. Albert Hammond and Mike Hazelwood of The Hollies are given songwriting credits because Radiohead used the chord progression from "The Air That I Breathe."

Always found it a little off-putting to have progressive nonprofits start calls with land acknowledgements. Like we have an office we don't really use much, why aren't we giving it back?? I just imagined car thieves doing a car acknowledgement as they drive to the chop shop.

My 3.5yo was playing with some kids and he was wearing his Elsa dress (from Frozen). He told me one of the girls asked him if he was a boy or a girl. "I'm a boy," he told her. She asked "so why are you wearing an Elsa dress?" He said he told her "Because I can do whatever I want." Oh, my heart.

Oof. Someone called the police because my mom's garage door was open all day, and no one answered when they knocked the door. So of course in the middle of bedtime I get a call from the police informing me of this. (She's okay). But what a fun adrenaline rush.
