We're playing Animon Story with the kids - a Digimon like #ttrpg - and I've been drawing my son's (8) Animon. Here's his original drawing, my interpretation, and the three earlier stages. (There's one more final stage but I haven't gotten to it yet.)

I've started drawing again. I should really post some of the stuff I've been working on. It's not a ton, but it's something, again. Idk though I'm really busy playing Date Everything.

#drawtober Day 1-5 (5): Candlelit Messenger Turns out I've been off a day this whole time because we started on the second. I have no idea what day it is ever I guess. This one is traditionally drawn because of other ADHD/technology related reasons and also I should draw in sketchbooks more anyway.

#drawtober day 1-5 (2): Candlelit Messenger Yesterday I tried to lay down strong lines with no sketching. Today I just sketched while limiting how much I used the eraser. I think I did a little better with my hatching this time. Last time the hooded figure was the messenger. This time the wall is.

I like how I struggled to draw due to over a year of unemployment in my family and the resulting anxiety and depression but NOW I struggle to draw because I got a job (that doesn't pay nearly enough to support my family) and I don't have a lot of spare time anymore. Super cool world we live in.

I've decided I want to try to develop a new art style. Hopefully by going into the style of stained glass, which I've always loved, it'll help me come back with fresh eyes on my "normal" or "default" style and help me improve it.

Aaand I did it. The original 151 pokemon from memory before the year is out, with bonus pre-evolutions and evolutions (before I had to have a crunch time) and now a bonus missingno. (Which I drew backwards, lol. I hope you've enjoyed this silly little endeavor! I feel like I learned a fair amount.

Next batch of pokemon from memory. My memory of porygon keeps shifting under my scrutiny, making it really hard to figure out how to pin down lines. I would've liked to do all the eeveelutions and porygon's but you know, time constraints from the keyboard incident.

More pokemon from memory. The same problem I had with Ponyta in not being able to draw horses? Applies to bulls and Tauros as well.

More pokemon from memory. These were all harder ones. I once saw someone do Jynx as more of a banshee like spirit and I really liked that. I didn't wanna stray too far from its original design for this, but in the future, I'm gonna be leaning into that cuz it's a good way to move away from... well.

More pokemon from memory. I obviously don't remember Kingdra very well. The main thing I remember about Kingdra is it humbling me in Pokemon Crystal when I had been wiping everything out with my Typhlosion main no problem, and it whipped out some massive water move that practically one shot me 🫠

More pokemon from memory. Tangela was fun to draw, just a green spaghetti. I mostly only remembered Ryhorn's head shape.

I had a small oops in my pokemon from memory. I straight up skipped Seal and Dewgong, and I did Onyx but never made a Jpeg so accidentally skipped posting it. Whoops. (Yeah, I know I was lazy on the Steelix. I really didn't feel like drawing it.) More in alts.

More pokemon from memory. I didn't really wanna draw hitmontop but it felt weird to draw tyrogue and not him. You'd think voltorb and electrode would be easy but circles can be surprisingly hard to draw. I had a lot of fun with eggsecute. More in alts.

More pokemon from memory. Did I mostly just copy-paste the magnemite for magneton? Yes, these are not maximum effort drawings. I know grimer and muk are usually much lighter but I was already vibing with the vibrant colors I chose so these ones are just more radioactive than usual.

Y'all know Tabletop Simulator? It's on Steam. One of the achievements is to upload 3 workshop items, and given my lack of 3d modeling prowess or programming ability, I realized my best bet is to do jigsaw puzzle art. I could have made this less of a ridiculously difficult puzzle but I didn't.
