Working on sandals for the hooves on my deer Jayde kigu in the hotel room before MFF starts 🦌🦌

The bird sandals are complete! All the ugly edges are covered up with an extra thin layer of foam and a black nylon strap around the perimeter. Now to find out if they hold up. Everything is hot glued together. I think it holds strong enough but I'll find out when they really get tested at MFF.

I'm working on sandals for the feet on bird Jayde. It took lots of trial and error to figure out how to set up the straps to prevent the sandal from rotating out from under the heel. I thought it would need rear straps but it turns out these are enough. 🐦 🐦

The first nut came off easily but the second one instantly rounded and decided it wasn't going to come off. It was in an awkward location so getting it with vice grips was difficult. I ended up grinding the side of the nut off to make it loose enough to get it off 1/8th of a turn at a time.

Can you guess which nut decided to fight me for an hour when I replaced a cracked strut mount on my car today?

Also the final piece of Gus came off the printer today! It has been almost exactly 3 months since the first print started, and 44KG of filament used. There is still lots to do though. If I manage to spend about 5 hours per week on the post processing, I estimate Gus will be complete in 8-12 weeks.
