Just finished working on a minigame called Common Ground that was supposed to debut at an earlier time, but faced difficulties due to limited number of questions. It functions the same as Geoguesser, but it asks what trait is commonly shared among the characters shown on screen.

There was a typo discovered in Anime Trivia All Stars at Tsukino-Con where I wrote who did Jotaro toss at Steely Dan after beating him up. That has been fixed to say what item instead of who. A question from Death Note and a question from Hunter x Hunter have been fixed to provide better clarity.

I have been told that Capella Interactive is in the middle of discussing about upcoming changes on what video games should not be shown at game show panels and told to review my content for an upcoming retro game themed game show.

Looks like The Pokémon Company took the fans’ feedback seriously on needing more time to polish their games. I am glad that they are announcing Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves to be released next year. Maybe it might be soon my time to get a Switch 2…but we shall see how things go.

Before covid, I used to see Falun Dafa members wear their “Falun Dafa is good“ vests in Vancouver. But after covid and recently increased tensions between US and Canada, they now are trying to hide them by wearing semi-transparent white jackets.

One of the newest challenges that I am currently working on for this year which might go into 2027 is to create a single player experience that is as fun as a multiplayer experience for existing game show panels. Game show panels at cons are designed to work when they are lots of ppl in room.

Just finished debugging and testing to make sure Anime Trivia All Stars is fully ready for conventions happening this month. No more "P010" in high score table.

When you see P010 show up again in high score table after making all of Anime Trivia All Stars minigames be in their own JS file and playing several games for testing:

I found a few more bugs in Anime Trivia All Stars. One where if player 3 or 4 wins Geogusser, they don’t get points when calculating Minigame Bonus, and another where there was a typo in correct answer for one of questions in Missing Word.

I changed questions for Word Scrambler mini game which had ”Anime Name” as hint to <decade> Anime. This is to reduce difficulty of Word Scrambler and make things more fair. Even I had trouble with some of them when testing with myself lol.

Made changes in very hard questions for all anime where instead of asking for the voice actor’s name for ENG or JPN, they ask about what character they voice. This is due to players struggling too much with these kinds of questions.

One of the things that I really need to change for loading minigames in Anime Trivia All Stars and Otaku Oasis when I am not busy is to separate the coding into multiple JS files. Up until What Came First which will make its debut next month, all minigames' coding were stored in one single file.

Patch notes for Anime Trivia All Stars: - Player who wins tiebreaker round gets 400 points. - Fixed issue where Geoguesser was not keeping track of who won that minigame. - Fixed issue where Player 1, 3 and 4 were not awarded Minigame Bonus when they have same score and more points than Player 2

Discovered a bug last night in Anime Trivia All Stars where if someone wins a tiebreaker, they are not placed above the player who lost the tiebreaker in high scores table. To fix that, 400 pts would be given to the player who wins the tiebreaker.

Whew. I was able to get a fully functioning high score system for Anime Trivia All Stars in just 2 days. The P<number> initials are there to help label players if they choose the same character and the game show goes for longer than an hour. All that is left is to make this look neater.

Just got told that I need to implement a high score display showing top 10 scores in Anime Trivia All Stars to address an issue with prizing distribution, and that it also needs to include scores of those who didn’t win first place.

I think I should thank my laziness for not making a Tiktok account in first place. When Tiktok became popular, I was already overwhelmed with having too many social media accounts. Also, Tiktok just didn’t click with me at all.

Just finished coding the cutscenes for the upcoming retro game themed trivia project. Now to make some minor edits in audio & visuals and find music that would fit the mood of the cutscenes. And the music has to be from games that are older than 15 years old according to my team...

Last night, I had a dream about a Danish TV game show called Hugo and how ppl were playing it with their landline phones. Looking back at it, it’s mind boggling to see how far we have come when comparing to today’s jackbox party games and smartphones.

Spoke w/ Capella Interactive that I would not be interested in running game show panels under its label at US conventions for foreseeable future. At the moment, neither of us see any benefits to expand the label's reach outside of Canada due to a number of reasons.

Finally caught up to Act 6 of Welkin Moon chapter in Genshin Impact. It's hard to find time to play these archon quests. So far, the story has been pretty good for Nod Krai. In less than 2 weeks, we are gonna STEAL THE MOONS back from The Doctor!

2025 was a big year for me as a panelist. I joined a small non-profit label as a developer to get help in working on game show panels. Thanks to them, we were able to release two new game show panels which have been in development for 6+ months in time for 2025 summer con circuit.

Let's Not Take The X-Wing

One new minigame that Capella Interactive and I have been talking about is whether we should have one where it's possible for players to lose points, but we haven't figured out what kind of gameplay be around it.

Testing out a new minigame called What Came First, where players have to know which anime came first. The coding can only handle anime from different years, but not anime released in the same year. We intend to add months into coding, so that we fit in multiple anime released in the same year.

When working on adding a new minigame to Anime Trivia All Stars, I just discovered that I forgot to include a line of code for Minigame Bonus for Missing Word minigame. Given how often Missing Word appeared last time I ran it, I can't imagine how different things would have gone if I did check.

After 3.5 rewrites, the script for new video game trivia panel that will be making its debut in 2026 is finally done. There were a lot of cuts made to reduce workload, and because things didn't make sense in the first two scripts.

In Husbando Duels, I allowed Edward Elric to participate since I have screenshot of him being 18 years old. Now with the final episode of My Hero Academia showing the main cast as adults, that means I can use official anime screenshots of guys like Deku and Bakugo in Husbando Duels All Stars.

Currently working on a new type of minigame where player has to know which anime came first. Unlike the previous minigames where questions are preloaded, this one doesn't. It takes 1 anime and searches for another anime depending whether coin in code is flipped heads for older and tails for younger.

Seeing WuWa win Player's Voice in TGA reminded me that I actually wanted to put guys from the game into Husbando Duels All Stars this year. But, I had 0 entries in my online survey for them & didn't have any idea where to put them. Hopefully in future, I would get responses of WuWa husbandos.

Just finished making modifications to minigame selection screen's coding for Anime Trivia All Stars so that a minigame does not appear too often during the game. Now it keeps track of the last 2 played minigames, so that 1st minigame does not return as the 3rd minigame to play and so on.
