So it sounds like Retro didn’t get to build Prime 4 from the ground up and had to rework a good amount of the scrapped build That explains a lot of the game’s clunky elements and gives me hope for Prime 5 cause now they’ll be able to start from ground zero with their own vision

One thing I’d be interested in learning about Prime 4 is how much of the final game had stuff carried over from the original build I have a feeling the slate wasn’t wiped clean from the cancelled build and would be curious to know what elements remained from the original version

It actually needs to be studied how 85 is treated like an event horizon score on Metacritic One game could have an 87, another could have an 82. Only a five point difference. One is seen as a low end GOTY contender, the other is a “disappointment”

I lowkey just feel bad for hardcore Metroid fans I’m really hoping regular players end up liking the game a lot more than reviewers cause it sucks for such an anticipated game after 9 years to be drowning in nothing controversies and headass takes right before release

The internet has always been heavily negative, but I can’t help but feel the past couple years it’s gotten so much worse Like it’s not even just yelling over likes and dislikes, it’s now “If you don’t like/hate this you hate art and are ruining everything for everyone else!”

Prime 4 in a bubble is reviewing solid, but I think the lower than expected score is a result of the long wait Because fans have been waiting almost 9 years for Prime 4, and it’s mainly just a good Prime game with a few new ideas, it feels a bit lackluster with such a long wait

This is the first time in my life I’m truly content with and rooting for my team to get absolutely humiliated and ass blasted because I know it’s the only way the Steelers will face reality

I think one of the worst things about Other M is it’s made people think certain ideas should just flat out never be done for Metroid again You can have Samus talk, you can have her be vulnerable, you can have a cast that interacts with her….you just need to do it WELL next time

TGA is weird this year because I think the GOTY lineup is very good, but a lot of the other noms are INCREDIBLY suspect E33 taking up half the performance noms, the RPG noms are baffling, no Sonic 3 in best adaptation Tons of great games just got nothing this year

The fact that Monster Hunter Wilds, Avowed, and Outer Worlds 2 were nominated for Best RPG but not Trails in the Sky, Digimon Time Stranger, or Hundred Line

They straight up forgot Sonic 3 was eligible for best adaptation man There’s no way On a list that includes the Minecraft movie, DMC, and TLOU season 2…they flat out forgot Sonic 3

Feels like there’s a lot of validity in modern criticism of media but it devolves into such over the top doom posting it’s hard to take much of it seriously
