Off tomorrow to get approx costs for travelling to New Zealand to attend @chaosium.bsky.social's Chaosium Con in November. We'll make a proper trip of it, and it will mark 22 years since last I stood on the ground of NZ. Will try to get to see the plaque to my great-great-granddad in Aukland.

Spent my entire work day in meetings, and one of those meetings was telling us how a 3rd party is going to show us how to build software using AI. The head of our section quite rightly asked, 'Why are we allowing a 3rd party to decide on how we use AI, shouldn't that be decided by us'.

I dare anyone to try this. First find a 4 core cable (the grey wire is important - no idea what it carries). And then find a socket with the pins all in the wrong place. If you can manage that, I'm sure you know this is more than a wrong way to wire a UK plug.

Just taken me 1 hour and 6 minutes to cancel my Sky TV account. An hour and 6 minutes, I could travel to the office and back again in that time (if I get luck with connections). The poor person didn't like me updating them with the length the call was taking and using 'Tick tock'.

Looking to dump Sky TV, they of course do Sky Stream - oh look, it's got everything just over broadband, but wait, it's MORE expensive than the TV package we have. WTAF Grumpy Me continues.
